Banana Ripening – Working Cycle
The plant is generally operated on 4-5 days ripening cycle comprising of:
- Precooling : 16 to
17 Deg.C and RH> 90% & pull down time 16 -20 Hr
- Ethylene Injection :
At a constant temperature of 18 to 19 Deg.C & RH >90%
- Holding Period : 16
– 20 Hr ( 24 Hr from start of ethylene injection) at 18 to 19 Deg.C & RH >90%
- Ventilation : After
24 hr since ethylene injection, Ethylene & CO2 is expelled out and fresh air is
introduced in the cold room.
